SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The Fort Concho National Historic Landmark will soon celebrate the completion of newly reconstructed buildings set to house two libraries with a public opening.
According to the City of San Angelo, Fort Concho's Barracks and Mess Halls 3 and 4 will be opened to the public from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16.
Guests can park across the street from the fort at 630 S. Oakes St., and a shuttle service will be present to transport attendees to the dedication site. The event will be hosted inside Barracks 4 should there be inclement weather.
The City stated that the buildings will serve as the future home of the Fort Concho Library and Archives and the Noelke Library.
