HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Two walks happening this month are meant to send a message that suicide can be prevented and that no one is alone.

The “Out of Darkness” walks want to save lives, as well as bring hope to those who are affected by suicide.

There are events in Huntington and Charleston.

Presley Slater Wallace from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention stopped by Studio 3 today to tell us about their importance.

The Huntington walk is this Saturday, and check-in starts at 10 a.m.

The walk is at 11 a.m. at Shelter Number 2 in Ritter Park.

The Charleston walk is October 25, with check-in at 9:30 a.m. and the event at 11 a.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park.
