MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WSAZ) - During Monday’s State of the University address, new WVU President Michael Benson described what he saw for the future of the University.

The goals that Benson set out include increasing recruiting in West Virginia and surrounding states like Pennsylvania and Ohio, as well as making progress towards joining the Associations of American Universities (AAU).

Benson said that because there will be fewer high schoolers graduating in West Virginia in the next several years, the University needs to increase its recruiting, including beginning the process as early as junior high.
