CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Thousands of drivers cross the Fort Hill Bridge every single day, and starting tonight, travelers will see construction crews getting to work.

“We are really trying to be efficient and expedite before getting into the cold weather,” West Virginia Department of Transportation Spokesperson Brent Walker said.

This comes after West Virginia Division of Highways found a series of major potholes on the bridge that caused headaches for drivers back earlier this year.

Walker says they are excited to get these repairs underway.

“We know we needed to address some of those potholes and some of those other issues that bridge has taken on,” Walker said.
