CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Tuesday, Charlotte City Council members will get a "special delivery" of over 100 applications and resumes for those seeking to be on the proposed new transportation authority.
The council spent roughly an hour during Monday night's business meeting reviewing the details and expressing concerns over the selection of 12 members who would comprise part of the Metropolitan Public Transportation Authority.
The city of Charlotte is responsible for appointing 12 out of the 27 members, three of whom must represent business interests in the county, and one of whom must have experience operating a small business. The other towns in Mecklenburg County will have one appointment each.
