The man accused of killing Glasgow gangland figures Eddie Lyons and Ross Monaghan is to be extradited to Spain.
Michael Riley, 44, is accused by Spanish police of shooting the pair dead at Monaghan’s bar in Fuengirola on May 31 this year. Riley, from Liverpool, was arrested in the city on June 14.
The Crown Prosecution Service says Riley has given his consent to be taken to Spain to face prosecution after initially opposing extradition, saying he would fear for his life in a Spanish prison, the BBC reports .
Police Scotland had initially insisted in the days after the double murder they had no information to suggest the crimes were in any way linked to the gang war that erupted across the Central Belt earlier this year.
