CHESTER, S.C. (WBTV) - The South Carolina man accused of killing a mother and her unborn child in a multiple-vehicle crash in October 2023 was sentenced on Thursday after he pleaded guilty.
Charles Jones III was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 16, after he pleaded guilty to felony DUI death and felony DUI causing great bodily injury and causing the death of a child in utero during a violent crime.
Jones was accused of driving under the influence and killing 25-year-old Kaitlyn Potter and her unborn child. It was an emotional day in court for Potter’s family, and loved ones shared memories of Potter and the trauma they’ve faced since this wreck happened.
