BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A Massachusetts man convicted of murdering a man in Bangor nearly eight years ago was back in court Friday.

F Daly , 37, is challenging his conviction with claims of ineffective assistance of counsel.

Daly was found guilty in September 2019 of killing 51-year-old Israel Lewis.

Lewis was shot to death in his Bangor apartment in January 2018.

Daly took the stand today saying his trial attorneys were given information that was not acted on during his trial, which he claims could have ended in a different result.

Daly also told the court he wanted to request a new trial following the verdict but was unable to reach counsel.

Daly is serving a 42-year sentence.

He filed an appeal in 2021 which was denied by the Maine Supreme Judicial Court.
