PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A pedestrian was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Northeast Portland early Sunday morning.

Just before 4:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at Northeast Lombard Street and 13th Avenue.

When they arrived, police said they found an injured man, who was then taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver involved stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.

During the investigation, officials say Northeast Lombard Street is closed between Northeast 11th Avenue and Northeast 15th Avenue.
