PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Authorities are investigating after a fire damaged the car, carport and home of Portland City Councilor Candace Avalos overnight Sunday.

Portland Fire & Rescue officials say they responded to reports of the fire in the 12400 block of Southeast Caruthers Street at around 2:40 a.m Sunday.
