TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona reopened today for the first time since SNAP benefits were halted on Nov. 1. The parking lot was bustling with activity as more Tucson residents seek assistance.
Stewart Brownstein, a longtime recipient of the food bank's services, decided to give back by making a donation.
"I've been wanting to do this for a really long time," Brownstein said.
Brownstein is contributing from his inheritance, despite receiving only $24 a month from SNAP benefits. He emphasized the urgency of the situation.
"It's horrible, it's really bad… I don't know how they're going to fix it, someone's gotta fix it," Brownstein said.
