Edinburgh officers are treating a flat fire which raged in a residential block as wilful.
Emergency services were called to Canon Street in the Canonmills area of the capital at 4.46pm on Tuesday November 4.
An image from the scene taken by an eyewitness showed the cobbled street engulfed in smoke as firefighters fought to get the flames under control.
Three appliances were dispatched alongside a height vehicle.
It is understood no injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed to Edinburgh Live that crews were still in attendance just after 7pm.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5pm on Tuesday, 4 November, we were called to a report of a fire at Canon Lane, Edinburgh.
