A United Airlines flight from Dallas to Chicago made an emergency landing at Lambert St. Louis International Airport in Missouri this morning after a bomb threat.
Police raced to meet the plane after it landed and arrested a passenger. Airport director Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge said the other passengers were evacuated from the plane.
The flight, bound for Chicago O'Hare International Airport, took off from Dallas-Ft. Worth International Airport at 6.57am local time. The diversion and forced landing took place at around 8.40am.
Sources told St Louis Post Dispatch the man who has been arrested said there was a bomb in his wife's luggage. Bomb and arson unit personnel were still searching the aircraft at 10.45am.
