PHOENIX — A second round of storms on Tuesday triggered a wave of safety warnings across the Valley.

The National Weather Service (NWS) advised residents to be aware of a flash flood warning throughout Maricopa County until 3 p.m.

NWS also issued severe thunderstorm warnings for Glendale, Peoria and Surprise. Residents can expect winds of up to 60 mph as well as quarter-sized hail.

Wickenburg and Morristown were also under a flash flood warning.

A first wave of storms arrived early Tuesday. The initial activity subsided by 9 a.m., but not before precipitation had been detected at weather stations across most of the Phoenix area. Western Maricopa County was hit hardest.
