All trains heading north from London Euston have been cancelled following a "major" train fault, sparking chaos at the station.

Passengers have taken to social media to share videos from outside with what appears to be more than a thousand people waiting to get home for the weekend.

There is a 'major fault' to the signalling system in the Stafford area, right in the middle of the Avanti West Coast route. This has impacted multiple Avanti West Coast routes, including journeys to and from Manchester, Liverpool, Scotland and north Wales. 19:41 Sam Elliott-Gibbs

New footage shows the chaos currently outside Euston.

Around 1,000 people are waiting outside the station, described as "Hell" on X by user @simonarabian.
