BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - A man has been arrested following a deadly shooting on Hanks Drive in Baton Rouge.

According to authorities, Darrel Thomas, 22, is charged with second-degree murder, illegal carrying of weapons, and possession of marijuana.

The shooting happened late Thursday night, November 20, on Hanks Drive near Airline Highway and claimed the life of Byron Horton, 23.

When investigators arrived at the scene, they found fired cartridge casings near the victim and near the front doors to two apartments, an arrest report stated. It added that a white Honda Civic was also found parked outside the apartments and had been struck by gunfire.
