LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - LMPD Chief Paul Humphrey spoke about the deadly shooting of a robbery suspect by two LMPD officers for the first time Wednesday morning.
Police said officers Patrick Norton and Richard Waller shot the man on East Southland Boulevard Saturday night while investigating a robbery. LMPD said the officers approached a man they believed to be a suspect and shot him after he tried to run away and pulled out a gun.
The name of the man killed has not been released yet.
In 2019, Officer Norton was involved in another fatal police shooting when he and an another officer shot and killed Shelby Gazaway outside the Kroger on North 35 th Street. Gazaway was accused of firing a gun during an argument inside the store and shooting at officers in the parking lot before the retu
