Emergency services are on the scene of a fire on the M90 near Edinburgh.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a blaze on the southbound side of the Forth Road Bridge on Saturday, November 29.

Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene after the service received a call at 3.57pm.

Images shared with Edinburgh Live by Fife Jammer Locations appear to show a vehicle on fire on the side of the road.

Large plumes of black smoke seem to be rising from the blaze as motorists slowly negotiate their way past.

A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "I can confirm we are in attendance on the M90 southbound. We received a call regarding a fire at 3.57pm on Saturday, November 29.

"Two appliances were dispatched and one remains in attendance (as of 5pm).
