LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky is looking for its next head football coach.
UK Athletics announced Monday it would part ways with Mark Stoops.
ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on social media Sunday evening that the split may be soon.
UK will owe Stoops more than $37 million, per his contract, which is set to be paid out within 60 days.
The 58-year-old went 82-80 in 13 seasons with Kentucky, finishing with two 10-win seasons and going 4-4 in bowl game appearances.
In the Wildcats’ 2025 campaign, Stoops led the program to a 5-7 season and a 2-6 SEC record.
