LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – With a wintry mix expected to move into parts of Central and Northern Kentucky Monday night into Tuesday, AAA is urging drivers to use extra caution on the roads.

In an advisory Monday, AAA Blue Grass said the combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain could create slick conditions for the Tuesday morning commute. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the region, noting that precipitation types may vary significantly across the state.

According to the advisory, accumulating snow is more likely north of the Bluegrass Parkway, while areas south could see sleet and freezing rain before a possible changeover to snow.
