Runners and walkers, some rocking costumes, filled west-Hailey streets and paths on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, for The Valley Chamber’s annual Turkey Trot 5K before filling their stomachs with holiday fare. More than 1,200 trotters participated. From top to bottom, participants race through the course, a loop that started near the intersection of Croy and River streets and wound through Draper Wood River Preserve and nearby neighborhoods; participants imbibe from a shot ski at an aid station managed by spectators who also served nonalcoholic cider to kids; participants walk through Draper Wood River Preserve; and a runner dressed as a turkey struts her stuff.
