ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — An investigation shut down all northbound lanes of I-75/85 near University Avenue SW Saturday night, after a man was hit by a car, according to Atlanta police.
Officers responded to the scene about a report of a pedestrian being hit by a car.
Police say the man was “pronounced dead at the scene.” Witnesses told police he had jumped from a nearby bridge.

Cars were at a standstill for hours along Abernather Boulevard (Exit 246) before they reopened around 11 p.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
