PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – Scott Bilsky reflected on his 4½ years with the Orange Board of Education in his final meeting as a board member Monday (Dec. 8).

Bilsky, whose service included two one-year terms as board president, did not seek re-election in November. His four-year term expires Dec. 31.

“It’s been a very interesting journey,” he said.

“As a numbers guy, I’m used to having a very specific answer to a problem. But this is a very interesting role where there’s not always an answer.”

Bilsky said in dealing with parents and their children, there’s “a lot of passion” for board members, and “there’s nothing to really quite prepare you for this.”
