The US has made a surprise move by committing to invest $1.25 billion in one of Pakistan's most insurgency-hit provinces, Balochistan. This comes just about two-and-a-half months after Pakistan's Chief of Defence Forces, General Asim Munir, along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, were seen at the White House with US President Donald Trump, showing him what were claimed to be samples of rare earth minerals from Pakistan.
