Hamilton Police said a boy is dead after being hit by a city bus east of the downtown area on Thursday.
Cops said they are investigating the incident after the child was struck by a Hamilton Street Railway bus at Emerald and Wilson Sts. and died as a result of their injuries.
Hamilton Police Const. Trevor McKenna said that the child was a seven-year-old boy and was struck by the bus at about 1:10 p.m. Other media reported that the boy was rushed to a hospital without vital signs, where they died from their injuries.
McKenna said the driver remained at the scene and was co-operating with the investigators. He also told the CBC that there were “several” passengers on the bus and other potential witnesses in the area at the time of the crash.
