A West Midlands mother and son have been charged over a theft operation which targeted more than 125 vehicles.

Liam Smith, 28 and accomplice Steven Swinburn, 24, were charged with conspiracy to steal, following 130 thefts or attempted thefts of vehicles over the past seven months.

Liam's mother, Emma Smith, 45, was charged with handling stolen goods.

Emma was bailed and is now due to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on January 8.

Liam Smith has been further charged by officers with burglary and robbery.
