ATHENS, Tenn. — A McMinn County deputy was reportedly involved in a crash on Ingleside Ave. while transporting an arrestee to jail in Athens.

McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy posted on social media that reports from the scene indicate another car pulled out in front of the deputy's vehicle.

According to Guy, the deputy and person in custody are being checked out at the local hospital but no one seems to have been seriously hurt.

"A crash investigation is underway and our prayers are with all involved," Guy said in the post. "All persons involved in the crash are being checked out at a local hospital, but all appear to have only minor injuries."
