ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC/WIS) - The 19-year-old Richland County man facing charges in connection with gun violence on the South Carolina State University campus on Saturday night faced a bond hearing Tuesday.

A judge set bond for Matthew McCoy, 18, of Blythewood, at $87,000. McCoy faces charges of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person and carrying a weapon on school property.

Arrest warrants released by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division state McCoy had a loaded Glock handgun in his vehicle parked on the SCSU campus on Saturday, WIS-TV reported .

After seeing a fight between two groups, McCoy allegedly grabbed the gun from his vehicle and shot twice towards an unidentified male wearing a black and red hoodie.
