ALBANY, Ore. - A new multi-use pathway is set to offer a safe alternative for pedestrians and cyclists traveling between Albany and Corvallis.
The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) shared details about the project, which aims to impact Benton County positively in the long term.
"Benton County has wanted a safe walking and biking path between Corvallis and Albany for more than 20 years. This project is a big step toward making that happen," said a statement from ODOT.
The upcoming section of the pathway will stretch from Rainwater Lane in Albany along Highway 99 to Merlot Avenue in Corvallis. This segment is the longest part of the project, designed to provide a safe bike and walkway along the busy highway.
