Columbia local and Carolus Online Academy (COA) teacher Heather Evans has been awarded the superintendent’s challenge coin for her exceptional impact on students and staff across the Palmetto State.

An eighth grade math teacher and Middle School Team Lead at COA, Evans is known for making virtual math engaging through discussion-based learning, interactive tools and plenty of humor.

Evans supports teachers, helps solve schoolwide challenges and ensures that students stay on track with weekly office hours and tutoring resources.

District leaders, including Superintendent of the SC Public Charter School District Chris Neeley, recognized her for outstanding service, integrity and dedication to student success, qualities which make her an integral part of the COA community.
