Rhode Island will face a snowy and blustery start to the weekend as a strong winter system pushes east across the Great Lakes and the Interior Northeast.

Temperatures will stay stubbornly cold, with highs barely cracking the 30s and 40s — and wind chills will make it feel even worse. Scattered light snow showers or flurries are possible, mainly in western and interior parts of the state, though accumulations will be minimal.
