Firefighters returned to a Rochdale neighbourhood less than 24 hours after a blaze broke out above a pub . Crews descended on John Street, off Halifax Road, in Smallbridge at around 6.30pm on Wednesday evening (December 3).

Three fire engines were sent out to respond to a car fire. The scene was around 0.1-miles away from the Greengate Pub and Kitchen, on Halifax Road, where crews battled a fire in the building's upper floor on Tuesday night.

An image from Wednesday evening shows multiple fire engines parked up on Halifax Road as crews worked on nearby John Street. Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) says crews spent around 90 minutes at the scene.
