Police have issued an update after a woman who was pulled from a Manchester canal died in hospital. Officers attended the Bridgewater Canal on Saturday morning (November 29) following reports of a body in the water near Kelso Place, in Castlefield .
A large cordon was put in place near the St George's Island flats. Multiple Greater Manchester Police officers, including crime scene investigators, were seen in attendance.
GMP said a female was pulled from the water at around 9am before being taken to hospital, where she sadly died. In an update, the force has confirmed the person was a 33-year-old woman.
GMP also confirmed that there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident. An area on Kelso Place remained taped off until around 2.45
