OMAHA, Neb. —

A 31-year-old man accused in a shooting that injured multiple people in Omaha in August will go to trial.

Maurice Brown is charged with use of a firearm to commit a felony, five counts of second-degree assault, one count of possession of a gun by a prohibited person and attempted first-degree assault.

Omaha police officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots near 30th Street and Bedford Avenue on Aug. 2.

Around the same time, ShotSpotter alerted officers to multiple gunshots in the parking lot of Kelly's Liquor. When police arrived at the liquor store, they saw a large crowd leaving the scene, according to officials.

Authorities said officers also responded to a crash near 36th Avenue and Lothrop Street around 4:28 a.m.
