A Los Altos man has admitted to sexually abusing a young non-verbal girl while he was working as her behavioral therapist.
Mitchell Takata, 22, pleaded guilty to sexual abuse on Friday after a deal was reached with prosecutors, the Riverside County District Attorney's Office told KTLA.
That deal includes guilty pleas to sex with a child under the age of 10 and lewd acts on a minor under the age of 14.
Sentencing is set for Dec. 15, and the deal includes a sentence of 17 years, two years short of the 19-year maximum for convictions on those charges.
Takata was arrested last year while he was still at the girl's home, officials said at the time.
That girl, whom officials called "severely handicapped and non-verbal," was not Takata's only patient, many of whom are severely disabled child
